Freshman Jaime Bellingham of Auckland, New Zealand, shared medalist honors with a score of 111 as the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) women’s golf team finished third in the Iowa Central Spring Invite April 1 and 2 at Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny.

The tournament was originally scheduled for 36 holes, but was cut to 27 holes because of rain and wet conditions.

Bellingham opened tournament play with an even-par 72 and then shot 39 over nine holes on the second day for a 27-hole score of 111 and shared medalist honors with Courtney Cunningham of William Penn University (WPU).

WPU took the team championship with 499 strokes. DMACC totaled 506 strokes in finishing third.

Other DMACC results included a 131 by sophomore Mackenzie Fuller of New Sharon, 132s by sophomore Jacee Lenz of Gilbert and freshman Kortney Orr of Columbus Junction and a 160 by sophomore Madi Berkley of Indianola. Fuller shot rounds of 87 and 44 to finish in 16th place; Lenz posted scores of 86 and 46 and Orr had rounds of 84 and 48, giving them a tie for 17th place; and Berkley shot rounds of 106 and 54 and tied for 51st place.

The DMACC women’s golf team will play in the NIACC Invitational April 17 at Mason City.
