Next week, three of Boone DMACC’s programs are coming together to bring Constitution Week, where you can learn about your constitutional rights and the problems facing those rights. The Boone DMACC Library, Social Justice Club, and Banner News present multiple events including panels for discussion. At every event, there will be drawings for free gas cards, so stop on by.

Monday Sept 16th – Room 146 @ 12:15pm
Genealogy and DNA testing kits panel with DMACC students, faculty, and the Ericson Public Library. Grapes, cheese, and chatting about our ancestry!

Tuesday Sept 17th – Boone DMACC Library @ All day
Celebrate intellectual freedom all day in the library. Scavenger hunt, cookies, and a banned book giveaway.

Wednesday Sept 18th – Room 146 @ 12:15pm
DNA and privacy panel with speakers Daniel Zeno from the Iowa ACLU, Cindy Corey from the Boone DMACC Nursing Program, and ISU Associate Professor Julie Roosa. Learn about your rights to privacy!

Thursday Sept 19th – DMACC Auditorium @ 12pm
Documentary film screening of Underwater Dreams, a film written and directed by Mary Mazzio about the story of how four high schoolers, the sons of Mexican undocumented immigrants, came to build an underwater robot for a contest.

Friday Sept 20th – Room 146 @ 12:15pm
What does an immigrant look like? Find the answer to this question along with free pizza at this panel with Shree Banjara, Heather Podlich, and Theunis Van Aardt from the Boone DMACC faculty.
