Angie Thomas, author of the best selling young adult novel The Hate U Give, is coming to DMACC for a special program called One Book, One College, One Community. This program uses a single book (in this case, The Hate U Give) to help in critical and creative thinking, along with joining the DMACC campuses with their communities. Thomas will be visiting for two sessions that are free and open to both students and the public, where there will be readings and talks about the book and the social issues it contains.
The event takes place on Friday, November 2nd, 2018 at Hy-Vee Hall (Iowa Events Center), with one session at 10:15am, and a later session at 1:30pm.
