Our DMACC #1 Bears are 40-0 in the year 2018! The Bears averaged over 8 runs a game, at least one home run per game and had a team batting average of 391. Freshmen Kaisha Wells and Morgan Nealey led the Bears in home runs with 12 apiece, while Nealey led the Bears in RBI’s with 61 and finished 2nd on the team in hits with 60. Freshmen Mia Ruther led the team in hits with 67, stolen bases with 20 and a .523 batting average.  The Bears offense was so dominant that 33 0f the 40 games they won were by 4 or more runs. Sophomore Molly Jacobsen had another dominant, damn near perfect 2018 campaign. Jacobsen went 19-0 with 17 complete games only having to be relieved from one of her starts. The rest of her stats are staggering. Jacobsen struck out 13 batters per 7 innings, had an ERA of .18, and only surrendered 3 runs all year. Sophomore Gabby Schnathorst was no slouch on the mound either. Schnathorst went 10-0 on the year and struck out almost 9 batters a game, with and ERA of 1.62. Freshmen pitchers Taylor Graven, Alexis Groet, and Peyton Parker combined for the 10 wins, 2 saves, and 77 strikeouts. As a collective the pitching staff struck out 377 batters, had an ERA of 1.15, and only gave up 6 home runs on the year. This weekend the Bears will play host for the Division II Softball Tournament. The Bears will play the winner of the Iowa Lakes vs Northeast game at 4 Friday afternoon in Boone Iowa. Good Luck Lady Bears!
