On Friday September 22nd DMACC Boone will be hosting the 22 pushup challenge, for the “In My Boots Fundraiser”.  Participants will be meeting in the Courter Center to do pushups, instructed by Professor Taylor.

When asked about it’s importance, Professor Taylor replied,”It is estimated that 22 veterans die from suicide every day in the US. When I went with the Guard to Afghanistan in 2010, we lost 6 in combat. Since coming home in 2011, I have counted around 16 suicides. Unacceptable!!

The In My Boots student group has put its support behind Paws & Effect on their mission to provide service animals for veterans in need. Also, my goal as a faculty adviser is to help students get out and serve the community. Helping others is a great tool to fight loneliness and depression.”

Shirts for the event are being sold for $10
